The recording mixer is in good condition. Our DAW is Cakewalk by Bandlab (developed from Cakewalk Sonar Platinum).

We now have a separate drum booth (actually a room). Instead of having the drums here, you can have the singer or somebody else do his/her thing here.
Premier Gen-X drum set, one of our drums sets. Bass drum 20x16”, ported. Toms 8”, 10”, 12” and 14” (this one different colour, but same body), and a 16” floor tom. The snare drum is also a Gen-X, 14x5” with die-cast rims. Virgil Donati had one of these kits.
The studio´s small jazz kit. Better than its price…18” bass drum, 12 “ and 14” toms. The snare drum is the original for this kit.
The Premier APK Cabria (UK) kit: 24” bass drum, 13” & 16” toms, 14x6,5” snare drum. Birch, with original high tension lugs. Drum heads Remo FiberSkyn2 for a vintage sound.
The same toms as in the bigger APK kit, but here with a 20x18 bass drum. The bass drum has a more controlled sound. The snare drum is an old Ludwig Supraphonic 14x6,5” (better than the new ones), and a Kumu 13” snare drum.
Snare drums: Premier Signia 75th Anniversary with wood hoops, Premier Cabria 14x7, Ludwig Supraphonic 14x6,5 (1966), Premier Modern Classic 2000-series, Gretsch Catalina Jazz, Kumu 13” (sold), Premier XPK 14x5. All Premier drums are Made in England. Not in the picture: Premier Gen-X 14x5 snare drum.

Here is a drum track from the album “Works of Man” by the band Run. The drummer is Timo Laatikainen, and he deserves recognition for his fine playing. The drums were recorded by Christer Karjalainen at the KC Sound Studio. The first 36 seconds of the track is the actual raw sound of the drums, just like they were recorded, with no processing. After 36 seconds, you hear the drums as they sound on the mixed and mastered track. The drum kit is a Premier Gen-X (the original UK model), and probably Timo´s own snare drum and his own cymbals.
Please note that this is an mp3 so the sound is not as good as a wav file, or as good as on the CD album. Obviously, you should listen to it on decent equipment, noty on a pair of lousy earphones or your “smart”phone.
